What this site is

Aquarium Florya is an independent, English-first visitor guide to İstanbul Akvaryum, the large aquarium in Florya on Istanbul's European side. It is written for international visitors, whose questions (what a foreigner actually pays, how to get there from a Sultanahmet hotel, whether it is worth half a day) the official Turkish-language site does not answer in one place.

We are not the aquarium's operator and this is not its official website. The official site is istanbulakvaryum.com; its sales line is 444 97 44.

How we work

• Every page carries a "last checked" date. Prices, hours and transport details are read from the official site and the transport operators, and we re-check them at least quarterly and after every price change we notice.
• When official sources disagree with each other, we say so on the page instead of choosing one silently.
• We do not publish invented events, reviews or photographs. There is one licensed photograph of the aquarium on this site; the rest is text, because what is in a given tank changes.

How we make money

We sell our own tickets and shuttle bundles for the aquarium, priced in euros for international visitors, and we may earn a commission on transfers and hotels booked through partner links in the footer. The official ticket page is linked from every price discussion so you can always compare.
